Heavenly Perogy

BRAND & CREATIVE DEVELOPMENT

Heavenly Perogy has grown to become one of Toronto’s top rated Ukrainian restaurants, opening in 2019 in the bustling Bathurst & Dundas area of downtown. With its unique location inside St. Volodymyr Cathedral, the brand needed a name and brand identity that was representative of the location, Ukrainian culture, but embodied a playful nature. With Jamie’s extensive work in food and beverage branding and creative, he was commissioned to assist with naming, brand development, signage and other brand touchpoints. The name “Heavenly Perogy” was selected and an illustrated logo mark was designed in 3 variations — one including a friendly & approachable smile. A hand-drawn word mark was selected to represent the hand-made approach to their kitchen craft, with the Ukrainian national colours as the core brand palette. During the pandemic, the restaurant started an in-house line of prepared small batch meals and required custom packaging to enhance the product presentation and brand experience with the customer.
